i have taken provera three times and it does work. it must work. the first time, my period started 6 days after i stopped taking the pills . and the last time, it started three days after. my periods are a bit heaver when i take provera. i might have to take them every month because i was just diagnosed with pcos. but last month, i got my period without provera. you might need to take it a couple of months in a row so that your period will be normal again. dont worry. its not bad and it does work. the only thing i didnt like was that i ate soooo much when i was on the pills.

I have not had a period since July 13th and my doctor gave a 10 day RX for provera (at my request) to bring it on.   I took the last pill 8 days ago and still no period.   Just wondered if this thing is foolproof - does it always work?  Has anyone had any experience of it not working to bring on period?

Hi I too have taken provera to induce a period.... I have not had mine for over 9 months and needed to induce a period to start my first round of Clomid.
It has now been 9 days since my last tablet and I have not had a period :( I called the nurses at my fertility clinic, they told me that I should already have it by now so I will need to go in for further tests and assess my situation! I already have PCOS and I have tried Metformin (which restore menstural flow in 90% of women) BUT NOT ME and now PROVERA too!! I dont think I can take much more of this disapointment :(
And its right before xmas too.... I just wanted something to work. I cant imagine never knowing what my baby would look like....

I am going through the same thing right now. Metformin didnt work to make me have a period either, and now I am on day 13 after taking the last pill. I called my doctor's office and the nurse told me it could take up to two weeks.

In Feb 07 I stopped getting my period for nine months my doctor put me on a 10 day supply of  provera. About 30 days later my period came, I had it normal for 3 months but never got period in March and is due again in 2 weeks. I have done 2 pregnancy test and I do have a few signs of being pregnant but both test came back negative { 1 at 5 days late the other at 8 days late} guess I should also mention I had my tubes tied in 2001.
