slow rising Hcg levels, ectopic pregnancy worry????

by mummyof1, Sep 22, 2009 08:47PM
Okay I am getting nervous, the doc wants to do a dildo (trans.) ultrasound because of my Hcg levels. On Sept. 10th, I got a positive HPT, went to the doc , got blood work done and four days later I got the results: Hcg level was a '7'. They took more blood on : Thurs. Sept. 17th and on the 18th, it went up to 144.

They took another one on the 21st (monday which was yesterday) and today, the 22nd, my Hcg levels went to 360.

the doc thinks that it could be an ectopic pregnancy because my Hcg levels are not going up as quickly as she wants them to be. Except with my first, My Hcg levels were low and she was born healthy 2 years ago (this is a new doc since my old one moved so she doesn't know my 'history')

anyways, from those who have had kids or who are docs or anyone who can answer this, is this a good raise in Hcg levels or should I worry?

note, I have never had fertility drugs or birth control. Never had one of those ectopic pregnancies before.

My first HCG level was a 9 and I am due for my second test tomorrow.  You definately give me hope.  From what I understand the levels are suppose to double every 48-72 hours.  However, I would definately do the U/S it is no big deal...  Good Luck on your pregnancy and let me know how it goes!
