My husband(40) and I(38) have been trying to conceive for 3 years.
My husband has had 2 sperm tests. The morphology(strict criteria) came back as less than 1% and then 0. All other parameters were normalNormal saline flush. Blood tests for hormone, diseases, vitamins were all good.
Blood tests on me have all been normalNormal saline flush. My tubes are open and I ovulate normally.
We tried natural IUI (no drugs) 3 times without success
We tried IVF once. 12 eggs, 11 mature, 7 fertilized without ICSI, which I thought was great.
2 returned to me at 3 days. conceived, but miscarried at 5.5 weeks
2 blasts returned to me during a "natural FET" cycle. conceived. missed miscarriage around 9 weeks. Finally miscarried naturally at 11.5 weeks. I am told it was probably a chromosome problem.
Question is, where to go from here? Can poor sperm morphology increase the risk of chromosome problems? If so, is it right to try again? Or should we look at the painfulPainful menstrual periods idea of sperm donation? Or is there some other route I have missed? I have read that sperm can be retrieved directly from the testesTesticular cancer Undescended testicle. Could this get a sample before whatever is damaging them occurs? If we do try again, are my odds of conceiving better now that I have conceived twiceTwice-a-day? By the same token, what about the odds of miscarriage?

TESA and PESA are 2 procedures your husband can look into with a Urologist. In TESA they remove immature sperm cells directly from the testes and let the cells mature overnight in the lab. My husband had this and we fertalized 5 embryos.
I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and hoping everything works out great. Good luck.
