withdrawal bleeding on birt control

by worriedaboutoral, Aug 27, 2007 02:41PM
I know when you're on birth control, and you take your placebo pills you get withdrawal bleeding, not a true period. If you were pregnant would you still get the withdrawal bleediing at the same exact time each month? I have been on the pill for 2 years. I got my withdrawal bleeding right on schedule. I have taken 3 home pregnany tests, two on the day I started my withdrawal bleeding, and then another one 8 days later, both were negative. could i still be pregnant?

What is it that makes you think you're pregnant if you're on bc pills?  Did you skip any?

I know I was on the pill for many, many years and the last year before I stopped I started getting withdrawal bleeding like that, maybe in the middle of the cycle and I just got off of them completely.  I had weight fluctuations and my doc told me that can cause different reactions from the pill.  I couldn't understand why all of a sudden it was causing breakthrough bleeding but it did.

Good luck!!

i'm on yasmin birth control, i take hormone pills for 3 weeks then sugar pills for a week, thats when i get my withdrawal bleeding every month. so my question is if you get your withdrawal bleeding every month at the exact same time, is there anyway you could still be pregnant?

I don't think that you would need to worry about being pregnant if you are on bc...but there is another forum that might be better suited for you than an infertility/fertility one...

Good luck!!
