I have Fibromyalgia, my husband has Coats disease (eyes), his dad had Lupus, my grandmother had Alzheimer's, and my son has KawasakiKawasaki disease's, ADHD, and Aspergher's. My biggest concern is for my son. We recently went to a checkup for his KawasakiKawasaki disease's where they ordered an updated heart test and found he has thickening in his left ventricleUltrasound, normal fetus - ventricles of brain Ultrasound, normal fetus- ventricles of brain and his blood pressurePressure ulcer is elevated. His doctor had concerns because my son is taking Adderal for the ADHD. I got the impression that he wanted Adrian off of the medicine if we could, but his ADHD doctor does not see this happening. To make things more confusing, during a recent evaluation, Adrian was found to have OCDObsessive-compulsive disorder's. I believe these are what cause the most issues with behavioral issues with Adrian, but the Aspergher's comes in a close second. My son is so brightBright beginnings and loving, but his health issues are getting in the way of him achieving his true potential. My two other children also suffer from his quick temper and outbursts as well. Any thoughts on treatment methods?
I believe the reason that the dr. wants to dc the Adderal is because with long time use, it is known to have side effects on the heart. As a matter of fact, I "believe" they do not even use it in Canada because of those side effects.
There are many medications for ADHD. Is it possible just to switch to another medication to help the ADHD other than the Adderal?
