by LoLoBoBo, Mar 24, 2007 12:00AM
Hi. I am new to the world of Fibro and everything connected to it. So here I am looking for answers to my questions. I am not diagonosed with fibro or anything, yet. we are in the process of doing that. We being my primary care physcian. She did the tender point thingy ma bober. I got 14 of them.

I hurt all over
I forget things
I have GERD
I have IBS
I am being treated for Depression
I can't sleep, But I am so tired all the time even if I sleep.
My fingers feel like they are swollen but they arn't, sometimes my ankles and toes.
I've been brusing easier.
Sometimes its hard to think

So far every blood test we've done has come back good. as in im normal, but im not. I have to pee in this bucket basically. Did you have to do that? What is wrong with me? Does this sound familar?

Sounds familiar.  All the tests usually come back normal.  I had 14 of 18 as well.  Just remember, fibro is a group of symptoms caused by "something".  It is not a disease.  They pretty much diagnose people with this when they don't know.  The diagnostic criteria is at at least 11 tender points and ruling out other causes.

So what do I do? keep getting tests thrown at me and hope its something else? I am so confused, And what can they do to help me fix the problem or is there no fixing? I am only 20 yrs old. I am kinda freaking out about this.

I wish there was an answer....I've been searching for almost 2 years.  I've been to numerous doctors.  No answers...all tests normal.  If it's fibro and they can't find a cause, sadly, all you can do is treat the symptoms.  They usually prescribe antidepressants, sleep medicine and pain meds.  Trust me, I know exactly what you are going through.  I'm just a lot older (44).  Also I'm a long time RN and know all about diseases etc....None of my experience has helped me with this one.  I wish you the best.

already got the antidepressants... got the migrane meds... got every freaking med under the sun. Does it ever go away?

For me, it NEVER, EVER goes away.  I have days when I am better than others but never really normal or even close.  Some people have periods of remission.  You can find a lot of info. at immunesupport.com.  There's a fibro, fatigue board there.  Lots of people there with these kind of problems.

I'm scared too.  I spent many months crying daily.  It's been almost 2 years.  I don't cry much anymore but I'm still scared and stressed about it all the time.  Has your doctor considered lyme disease as a possibility.  It can cause all those symptoms as well.

I have no idea. because at the same time being tested for this im dealing with daily migranes. I am one big mess of everything. I looked at that website, its a pretty cool place.
