I have been diagnosed with fibroyalgia and am learning to deal with the pain through medication... but, a new problem has come up with my skin. Does anyone else have any skin problems with their fibromyalgia or maybe this is just unrelated?
i'm not a Dr but have you been checked for Lupus? the symptoms can be very similar to fibro and from what i have read you can get skin problems especially where exposed to the sun. there are pictures on the net, maybe you could see if it looks similar to yours. just a thought, don't want to worry you but its always worth checking everything out. another good fibro resource is immunesupport.com, you may get more info there about it being a common symptom. good luck and hugs.
You should speak with your doctor or rheumatologist and ask to be tested for Lupus. As stated by a prior postee - this sounds more like Lupus than fibromyalgia. I have suffered from fibromyalgia for the past 16 years and have never experienced skin rashes.
I Have Fibromyalgia and have never had any swelling or rashes as you described .I do have a very light rash i get mainly on shoulders and back very hard to see .i treat it with peveral about 3 times a year .I dont believe there is any connection to fibromyalgia.
good luck with your search for answers. have you shown your probs to your Dr?
