Hi,
I was on the lyrica when i started the suboxone. I found that the lyrica seemed to have no effect on me at all. I had a real hard time starting the Suboxone and getting used to it. The first dose prescribed by my doc was 8mg 1/2 tab every six to eight hours as needed. I took the first dose at the Pharmacy. Thank god i went straight home. I was completly loaded and out of it, slurred speech pupils dilated. The weirdest thing was i couldn't urinate. I had a bladder full of urine but i couldent get it to "release". I had to "push" to get it out. My Dr. is impossible to get in touch with unless you are there for you appt. I decided the dose was too high and started cutting the pill inot smaller and smaller doses. down to taking 1/8 every four hours. Finaly the doctor told me to take the whole dose at night. it didn't effect me too badly , I found that most of my pain was gone but i couldn't sleep that night.I decieded to try a whole dose again that morning. i felt fine and stayed up all day. This was incredably different for me as i usually sleep much of the day.
Now i take 8mg.1/2 twice a day. and am fuctional again. i am amazed by what i can get done in one day. I do find that the suboxone does not help with my arthritis pain. . What i am saying is it took me weeks to adjust to the dosage of suboxone with no help from my doc. finnaly taking prescribed dose and feeling soo much better. I do not remember what it is like to feel good but i have found great relief with suboxone.
