A Powerful Statement from Dr. Nancy Klimas

Of course Dr. Klimas frequently treats both HIV and CFS patients:

"I split my clinical time between the two illnesses, and I can tell you if I had to choose between the two illnesses (in 2009) I would rather have H.I.V. But C.F.S., which impacts a million people in the United States alone, has had a small fraction of the research dollars directed towards it."

Wow, that's an incredibly bold statement Dr Klimas made!
But I think it says as much about how far treatment for HIV has advanced in the last decade, as about how debilitating CFS is.

Hmm. live a normal, active, healthy life with the help of medication - albeit with a possible early death - or be terribly ill for the foreseeable future with a disease that has no treatment (yet)?

I'd go with what she said.
