It is generally not recommanded to Me-CFSers, as vaccine meant to kick start your immune defense by injecting the virus to you.....if I remember correctly, so your immune system will recognize this virus and produce antibody against flu, pneumonia, etc. But, I do know for some ME-CFSers, they tolerate vaccine without any problem,
In my case though, I'm allergic to anything and everything, and vaccine could kill me faster than ME-CFS. Chuckles.
Since research has shown that over 50% of those with CFS have multiple infectons, the immune system is already compromised. For most with FMS/CSF, a vaccination of any kind causes illness.
I have both and unless I was experiencing a problem with pneumonia on a routine basis, I would not risk taking the vaccination. I'm sure there are others who would; this is my opinion only. I don't do well with any type of vaccination.
I received the Pneumonia Vaccine 2 weeks ago, and it sent me into a very severe Fibro flare! So much pain that I ended up in ER/CCU having a heart attack! The pain stressed my heart that much! (No heart damage done, but sure was a wake up call!) I would recommend discussing and proceedures/shots with your doctor, and making sure he/she is very up to date on FMS/CFS and what causes flares. In my case, my doc really isn't familiar with my conditions at all! Oh, and to top off all the stress? The morphine given to me bottomed out my blood pressure and I was within minutes of coding before they gave me Narcan to reverse the Morphine!
