I came down with a severe viral infection beginning of Jan and have been feeling fatigue most of the time.  I had all kind of symptoms, headaches, muscle and jointaches, fatigue, rash, dizziness, sore throat and chest pain.  I was also diagnosed with pericarditis back in march.  Ever since the viral infection I have been feeling fatigue even though most of the joint, muscle pain and the sore throat has gone away.  If you are fatigue all of the time without other symptoms can this be fit into CFS.  Does anyone know the percentage of people who fully recover and usual length before some recovery?  I am 34 year old male and was pretty active and healthy before the infection.  Is there anything I can take or do to relieve the fatigue?
thank you in advance.

I am a 38 year old female that has been diagnosed with post viral fatigue syndrome.  I have NEVER felt so bad in my life.  I have always been healthy and active but now I am hit or miss and feeling symptoms comparable to the brink of death!  I was good for a week or so and just today I got an inflamed cervical lymph node and my tongue and throat were numb off and on.  I had a hard time swallowing and breathing.  My head felt "Full" and I was TIRED, sudden onset.  Then, just as quickly as it came on, it went away....at least for now.  I have NEVER experienced such odd anomalies.  Every test seems to come back normal too, I feel as if I am losing my mind......

Hang in there, it seems like we are not alone, there are TONS Of people that suffer from this very real disorder.

What are all of your symptoms?

Hi again,

Your symtoms do sound 'abonormal'........I also have days with painful lymph nodes. I will keep a symptom log for myself to see the pattern.  It is confusing when you know something is definately weired going on inside your body, yet, no one can tell what you're dealing with.

When I'm out of my current brain fog, I will leave you message about sites that may help you figure somethings, what tests you might find advantage to have done.

Hang in there.

If you still keep active.......it is definately a good sign.  I haven't the slightest notion how fatigue CFS fatigue is, until I got it.   It is something you don't get over......more you do, more severe the fitigue.

Before I even suspect that I had CFS, I was in the same boat.....I recvoered from bouts flu and went right back to a grueling work schedule.  But, I paid the ultimate price for thinking I could keep on pushing myself.  WRONG!!!

My symptoms do comes and goes.......news one replaces old ones.  Some symptoms do come and go.......but faituge, pain, sleep problem, etc are  always persistant,  SEverity of all my symptoms vary depends on how severe my fatigue is.

Percarditis can make you pretty tired, I believe.  As for fatigue, I believe it is most important to pace yourself.

Hope my answer is somewhat helpful to ya.

Hang in there.

I still work about good 6 hours a day and have some good days and bad.  I do get headaches often and on and some jointaches here and there but not to a point it slows me down.  the thing that bothers me the most is fatigue and that comes and goes.  I could play 18 holes of golf one day and sleep in as long as i can the next.  Im just puzzled about my symptoms.  Do you guys have the CFS symptoms come and go week at a time?  I do get some chest pains but not sure if thats from CFS or pericarditis.  I am just hoping that these symptoms go away.  anything you guys do for fatigue?  thanks in advance

Your rhumi could be right........
If you have CFS, that fatigue will make you wonder if you're dying.......amongst many, many other symptoms.
However, I would worry more over your Pericarditis....it could be that virus entered into your heart. I hope your doc has treated you for that.
My journey into CFS started with severe viral infections as well........on and off, I was stilla ble to work for 6 months before I collapsed and never recovered since then, 14yrs ago.

G'evening.

I would say at this point, you do not meet the CDC's criteria for CFS. (good news !) One thing you may consider is seeing a Naturopathic physician. From my experience, I have found that they usually know how to help people who are fighting post-viral illnesses.

Also, you may want to get tested for allergies if you have allergy symptoms.
