I have had CFS often on for about a year.  It has drastically improved with good sleep, exercise but do feel fatigue once in a awhile.  I also think that I have yeast infection with heavy white coated tongue, tingling sensation on my feet and hands.  I also feel weakness in legs after exercise and have some problem with balance.  Are all these part of CFS? and anyone have any good treatment for yeast infection.  I m hiv neg and not diabetic. Thanks in advance.

I buy Thorne Research's Olive Leaf Extract off the internet from naturamart.  I don't notice any side effects, but everyone is different. You can probably buy it at a natural health food store, but I know Thorne Research's products are high quality.

To answer your other question, any kind of sugar will exacerbate yeast infections and whip cream has sugar. There is a natural sweetener called Stevia, which can be used to sweeten things and does not exacerbate yeast problems. Stevia can be purchased at health food stores also.

I am diagnosed with FMS & CFS and have a white-coated tongue. I was told by a doctor at a Fibro Fatigue Center that it is yeast.  Yeast infections are common with CFS.  I take the natural supplement Olive Leaf Extract everyday to control yeast.

I don't know if I have Candidas or not.  I do know that my family has to watch out with type 2 diabetes.  Stevia has proven helpful for the sweet tooth for a lot of people.  And, it doesn't spike the blood sugar of diabetics.  I have a neighbor who would be the first person to say that it's his own fault that his diabetes is as bad as it is.  I make an iced tea of rooibos (African red bush tea) and stevia and keep it in the refrigerator for when I want something on the sweet side.  I make it a little concentrated, so I don't have to keep making more of it so often.  Then, I simply fill a glass half full and add water to fill the glass up.  I use the real stevia herb that I buy at places that sell medicinal herbs.  It works very well.  I served some of this concoction to this neighbor and the neighbor really liked it.  I didn't feel the least bit guilty either, because I knew it wouldn't hurt his blood sugar.

I realize that diabetes isn't Candidas, but I'm sure a lot of diabetics have Candidas and don't know it.  I know that both conditions make people crave sugar.

I can't afford out of pocket expenses for testing whether I have Candidas or not, so I can't get the test done for my naturopath, because my PCP doesn't believe in this kind of thing.  She is pretty supportive in many ways, but I can't get the tests done for Candidas through conventional medicine and can't afford out of pocket testing.  Sometimes I find that I really crave the very things I'm sensitive to, including dried fruits, which are full of natural sugars.  I had a mild anaphylaxic reaction to some just a few days ago and had to take the higher dose of my Benadryl and just go to bed for a few hours.  That's enough to keep me from eating that kind of food again!  I have to say mild anaphylaxis, because it was definitely my mouth and throat involved and it felt like I was trying to swallow a hard rubber ball.  It just wasn't enough of a reaction to call 911 or head to the e.r.  It was enough to get my attention, though.  After a few hours, the reaction I had went away.  I had to sleep it off.

I'm not sure if I'm sensitive to stevia or not.  Sometimes it affects my GERD and sometimes it doesn't.  So, I don't drink this tea I make very often.  But, it's nice to have something I can serve to other people when they do come around.  Most people I know don't have the laundry list of food issues that many of us on this forum do.

am very much with robinhood, with time and slow excercise, learnig what your limits all help greatly but its feeling well enough to be able to start this in your daily routine. it does build your stammina and you gain more energy. all your symptoms do sound normal symptoms. i also suffer with yeast infections continuasly and no matter how many times i treat it or avoid certain foods ect it comes back. i have been using a natural candida balance that i get from holland and barrat. its called dida and costs about £20 this will last for a month but then the second month the table itake drops. i have found this the only thing that helps keep it balanced and no infections have occured since, it also stops sweet cravings if you have any. hope this helps

I have found that when I do mild exercise, I am ok afterward, tired, but like I am usually (which is tired all the time). But if I exercise strenuosly (sp?), it knocks me for a loop the entire next day and sometimes into the one afterward. I take a dance class on Monday nights (don't want to give up), but Tuesday I am tototally useless, because I am beyond exhaustion. So, yes, you can exercise but you should keep it low and mild.
Also, I believe that yeast infections are common for CFS. I have read that in the research that I have done on CFS.  You should see a doctor for that.
Good luck!

The white-coated tongue, at least in my case, is due to allergies.

Actually, postie, many people with CFS *can* exercise, just not very much or at least significantly less than they used to.  Most people find that exercising very lightly but regularly will improve their stamina marginally over time.

Using myself as an example, I went from being able to walk 15 minutes without getting exhausted to being able to walk 20-25 minutes without getting exhausted...this took several months of walking the same route, occasionally adding a little bit on days when I felt a bit better.  I also found that lifting weights was helpful for the weak, jittery feelings.  But again, I had to keep it WAY less than what I would have before getting CFS and stop well before I felt tired.  If I didn't, especially with the walking, I'd be exhausted and myalgic for at least a day or two afterwards, sometimes more.

As for sleep, while I personally haven't found it all that helpful or detrimental when I sleep more or less than normal, I know others have reported at least some mild to moderate changes in symptoms, so don't rule it out.

But back to the OP, the white-coated tongue sounds very much like a yeast infection, which is not typically part of CFS.  A doctor can prescribe an anti-fungal mouthwash or systemic anti-fungal to help with the problem.  The rest of your symptoms match CFS fairly well, though they can also be caused by a number of other things like the yeast infection possibly affecting the rest of your system.

CFS does not improve just because a person has good sleep.  People with CFS can't exercise either.  We have more fatigue when we do.
