CK Blood test; has anyone had an elevation in this bloodtest?

This test is similar to the CPK which is elevated in people who have muscle damage. I was wondering if anyone else has had this test done and what were the results if the level was elevated. I saw the neurologist this past week for muscle weakness, and balance problems along with memory problems. I managed to fail the tests he gave me and to top it off, found out I have a brain tumor (probably non-malignant), but the tumor isn't the cause of the problems. I'm trying to figure out if this is all a result of my having severe Fibro, or something else. Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks for your reply, Platelet. Yes I have had my heart checked out. I've had SVT for years and I have Raynaurds which causes the constricting blood vessels, so I tend to have angina due to that. CPK/CK  is an enzyme that is released in the blood when there is muscle damage going on, I don't think my neurologist is thinking it's a result of my Fibro, he's checking for other things as well. I was just wondering if anyone had had these tests done and what were they told.

I don't think your elevated CK or CPK test is due to fibromyalgia alone. I would consider asking your neurologist if he has any research on elevated CK's in fibro patients. I seriously doubt that he has because fibromyalgia, at this point, is not considered to be an autoimmune disease. Of course CFS is not considered to be an autoimmune disease either, but yet it affects all of our organ systems.

Have you had your heart checked out ?
