I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after having chronic illness/pain for many years through out my teenage and young adult life. My GP put me on Cymbalta I think because he is under the impression fibro is a symptom of depression lol He is young & trying to help so I applaud him. Duloxotine mediates the fibro points to where I can manage instead of being immobile, yay! But concerns have been raised that I might have MS? Is it possible to have both or is it more likely I have been misdiagnosed? I recently had a flare after being in the heat -- I got super dizzy, my upper right arm tingled like pins/needles, and my speech was very slurred. I also have vision problems -- everything has a red tint to it & it looks like the world is oscillating ripples. I felt better after getting into the AC but I was down & out for approx a week after that. I told my GP about my vision problems & he said to see my optometrist who says my eyes are fine! Now I am being told to see a neurologist & that I should get an MRI but I am scared because I can't afford it & what if it's a waste of money? Also one of my friends became wheelchair bound with MS & I am afraid that will happen to me and I won't be able to care for my son. Do you think the vision issues are fibro related? I am thinking about getting a second opinion but it's hard to get an appointment to begin with. I guess I am just not sure what to do at this point! :/
