Could I have fibro?

For the past 8 years I have had pain and such off and on. I am 27 now and for the past 9 months I have started have pain mostly on my left side. It is sometimes in my left leg, shoulder, armpit, arm, neck, face and even my jaw gets tight and painful on my left side. Sometimes it just hurts, sometimes it cramps or tingles and sometimes it even feels cold. I never know what it is going to feel like honestly, but it definatly is bothersome.  Sometimes my right side will do this but almost always it is my left side. I feel tired and achy about 80 to 90% of the time. I have heard that many people with fibro hurt when they are touched and I don't really have any symptoms like that so it makes me wonder. I thought that perhaps it was my heart but I went to a cardiologist and it turns out my heart is very healthy. I am very overweight and went to an endo a few months ago. He found a large thyroid nodule which was biopsied and will be removed soon. My bloodwork came back as a very low functioning thyroid so I don't know if that may be the problem instead of fibro. I tend to get sick more than others too or at least feel sick.  Right now as I sit here and type, my left upper leg is having mild shooting pains, I am getting spasms, tingling and a little pain in my left shoulder and arm, my left side of my neck is stiff and my left jaw is hurting. I also have a cold feeling in my left shoulder and pain in my arm pit area. Every once in a while I will get a tightening or spasm type feeling in some part of my body. What is going on with me?

Its sounds most likely  your thyroid causing these symptoms.  Fibromyalgia patients will have pain equally on both sides of there body.  If your back hurts on the left then usually the right side same spot will aslo.  This has been my understanding and was told to me by my Doc now and the neurologist who diagnosed me.  Although I have pain in one area and not in the other plenty of times.  Your doc will get it all figured out for ya.  Take care and good luck

Regaurdless of what is going on as I said to you before in another post you must go to your doc asap.  Get some blood work done.  Even though from what I understand bloodwork cannot diagnose FM it can rule out other things.  Thyroid problems can give you symptoms like FM.  Anyway something is happening to you and you should go get a complete check up and go from there.
Good luck and I hope it is nothing serious and that you feel better soon!

I have heard that thyroid issues can cause this type of symptoms too so I wonder if I should wait until I get my thyroid issues solved before I persue the fibro?

You need to see a rhuematologist to be checked for 18 tender points and you will know straight away .Hopefully you dont have it,but you dont need every symtom to have fibro either.
