DO I have fibro?

Hi, I'm new to this site, but I hope to get some helpful info. I am very confused on what could be wrong with me. I am 30 and I have had problems since I was 10. Most of the Drs that I have seen have pretty much looked passed me, plus it doesn’t help that I didn’t have just one dr. Anyway, I have a few problems that I know for sure. I have 3 heart conditions.....SVT (about 200 and above), MVP, murmur. I have "attacks" where I have rapid heart beat, body shakes, hyper ventilating, lose awareness (almost like fainting symptoms), dizzy, light headed, and I get a flush feeling over my body.  I have no warning and no time to take action before they happen, I can sometimes have one or have them back to back.  I can go months without one or have them constantly, I’ve had two node ablations, insertion and removal of loop recorder, none of which have solved my problems.
I also have degenerative bone disease (but I’ve never had any treatment for it), IBS, Carpal Tunnel, Arthritis, and chronic UTI.  Now the reason I’m on this site is because I have a lot more problems that I’m worried about, I have constant pain everyday, I know it sounds stupid but it’s true.  My major pain right now is in my left knee and both my ankles, and my skin hurts at a light touch.  I can not use my left thumb; I can’t even open the door with my left hand.  I feel like I have creepy crawlers in my legs, and when I try to relax at night my legs jump out of nowhere.  I have a very high pain tolerance, but I don’t know how much more I can take.  I don’t have health insurance so I don’t know what to do, any advice would be wonderful.

I don’t know if this helps but my grandmother does have fibromyalgia, Is it hereditary?  Thanks for all of your help.

Probably lyme disease as I had the rash.  It can cause all of those symptoms.  The autoimmune disords are lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, MS and others.

I have had so many different test, but I dont think that I have ever heard of being tested for either of those. Do you suffer from one of these?

Thanks  for responding  =)

That attacks you describe sound like the classic symptoms people get when they have SVT.

Have you had autoimmune illnesses and lyme disease ruled out?

Hi and welcome to our community.

There isn't any proof that FMS is hereditary, but genetics likely do play a role in this illness.  Of course, we can't tell you if you have FMS.  Only a physician is able to do that by checking trigger points and ruling out other medical issues that may cause similiar symptoms.

Take a look in our Health Pages at the "Newly Diagnosed" message and it will show you what other condition should be ruled out prior to an FM dx.  Also, there is information that will tell you many of the symptoms and you can compare them to what you are experiencing.  Certainly, your heart condition can cause many of the symptoms you describe so that must be considered.  The leg jumping at night sounds like Restless Leg Syndrome or Periodic Limb Movement Disorder.  Both of these are in our Health area as well.

Since you don't have insurance, you can check with your Department of Health to see if there are any free clinics in your area.  Also, most locally govt. funded hospitals have programs to treat those who are uninsured.

I hope this helps and you can find someone who will help you with some type of treatment program.  Getting good sleep is highly important and plays a huge role in the way our body and mind feels.  Also, pacing yourself so that you don't bring on a flare-up by overdoing things.

Hope you feel better soon.
