Do the side effects decrease after you have taken Lyrica for a while?

Hi
This is my first post. I have been diagnosed with having fibromyalgia for 11yrs. It was so bad in the beginning I could not get out of bed. The doctor put me on amitriptyline and it worked to the point that I could get around but made me very tired. I stopped taking the drug. I went on with life in constant pain but used meditation to help deal. I don't like taking drugs. So, about 3 months ago I started to have severe hip pain and could barely walk. I did meditation but the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep. I work in daycare so i found it very difficult. I went to my doctor she put me on Lyrica!
I did research and the side effects were terrible but the pain was increasing all over my body. My family told me to try it. I take 300mg a day I still have pain but not as bad and I feel so dizzy its like I am high on alcohol or something. I cannot remember anything and I was wondering if the side effects will go away after awhile?

I am currently taking Gabapentin which is generic for Neurontin. It is similar to Lyrica.  I am dizzy on 400 but can tolerate 300.  Maybe they can lower your dose until you get used to it.

Lyrica is very different for everyone. My friend is taking it for MS and it helps her with few side effects. When I took it I hardly could remember my name. I had a stubborn doctor, and you have to titrate off Lyrica. Do NOT just stop taking it. Slowly reduce dosage if you have to go off it. I had such a terrible time on it I can't watch the tv ads for it. As I said, that was me and it is different for everyone. Best of Luck.
