Fibro ladies updates

Well ladies on top of all my other problems my back was out for a week i called rhuemy on friday he put me on tramadol. By sat night  my leg was going numb and hurting so bad as well i went to Er on sunday come to find out that my back has finally had it on me. I have a herniated disk that is pinching nerves which is causing more pain that usual and is causing the numbness and loss of function in my left leg. They put me on cataflam 3 times a day volume 3 times a day and two norco every 4 hours. And its helping some im able to get up and move around still with some pain but they make me a bit nauseated. I go to see a neuro surgeon tomorrow to see what he has to say. My biggest question and fear is that if i opt out on the surgery if that nerve will eventually die off and i will end up paralyzed in my leg. So i will post back tomorrow to let ya all know what he says.

well went to see surgeon today and it was a joke i didn't like him or his nurse. Neither wanted to hear about my history with the fibro or anything else that got me to that point. And the stupid dr was trying to order an mri before he even looked at my ct disc that i brought up there. Then i requested more meds cause er only gave me enough for 3 days an  he called me in the room and said oh you have a herniated disc i was like hello yeah i know this. So he said i could try injections or surgery i was like i have already had 5 injections before they didn't help, Well then its surgery and he wouldn't give me any more of the valium i had to beg for the norco he said he doen't do prescription there only surgery i was so frustrated i almost started to cry when i walked out of there. So im going to see my rhuemy tomorrow and see if he still wants to do the sleep study and get a reffereal or a knew surgeon and getting my records and reffereal for a 2nd oppinion for a neuro like he wants me to do.

Hey sorry to hear about that. I hope they are able to give you some medication that provides relief. Hang in there. I am pretty much refusing to go to the DR. now. My therapist just told me she did not think it was somatization, but probably a nervous system disorder. She wants me to continue searching for a medical reason behind my symptoms. I told her I was done with doctors and tests. I do fine just as long as I do not do too much. If I take breaks and not get stressed I can manage. The system is flawed, but we are tough. If we can deal with the symptoms we deal with I guess we can deal with them.

Seems like all we get is the run around. Well update i have went and got a second neuro oppinion. He wants me to start on cymbalta. I also have to have another emg an eeg since my last one was better but still abnormal and i wasn't aware of that. He told me besides from fibro and myoclonus i maybe having benign fasiculations disorder if my emg comes back ok. Or a seizure disorder. Also need to lose some weight i gained back all the weight i lost when i got my teeth done and began to have major pain last summer. Also go for injection in couple wks for the herniated disc. Had to reschedule sleep study for end of this month.
