Fibromyalgia/Lyrica/Physical Therapy/Massage

Hello. I am new to this reaching out for support thing. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in January. I have been on tons of different meds and nothing seems to help. So now I am at my last resort so to speak. The only drug I haven't tried is "Lyrica". I took Cymbalta (30 mg) one time and I was so sick the next day the smell of food made me want to throw up. Well needless to say shortly after that I ended up having my fiance pull over on the interstate so I could throw up and a few hours after that I ended up throwing up again. So I went to my primary doctor and she told that my system could not tolerate Cymbalta at any dosage for me to get so sick from such a small dose. So, she put me on Savella. I have been taking that for about a month give or take a few days. So I was wondering if I am supposed to feel worse before I feel better. So I called my primary doctor and asked her that. I am in so much pain that I can barely walk 10 feet to the bathroom. And I don't sleep even though I take ambein (10 mg) or Cyclobenzaptine (10 mg), nothing seems to help ease the pain just so I can sleep. I don't know what to do. I am to the point of should I or shouldn't I take Lyrica? I am start physical therapy and it scares the hell out of me. Cause movement is painful. Some people tell me deep tissue massage is the way to go but even that scares me cause even touching the places that hurt, hurts even worse. Please someone help me. =/

Hello! I am also new to this. I resorted to this a few weeks ago. I thought maybe I could find some other answers or suggestions. I was on Cymbalta at 30mg and when they bumped me up to 60mg.....I started sweating profusely all the time. No one knew what was causing it. I finally stopped the Cymbalta and the sweating stopped. I have also taken Lyrica. It did not seem to help me at all. Between those two medications....something caused me to swell up, get all puffy and put on a lot of weight. I am guessing, it was the Lyrica. I am not taking either anymore. I started the Savella last Thursday and I have been sicker than a dog since Saturday night. I wish I could go through some detox thing right now to get it out of my system real quick. I have had stomach cramps, sweat running down me, chills, clamy, shortness of breath, blurred vision, lack of concentration and an overall feeling of crap. I missed work today and might be home tomorrow also until it is out of my system. I hope I never feel this bad again. I have had a deep tissue massage before but it has been a long time. I just made a call today to set up an appointment for another one. I don't know if it is going to hurt me more or if it will help break up all that muscle tension and stiff joints. I don't have much advice for you since I am still stuggeling myself. I can't even find answers or help. I did go to a holistic doctor today. They believe.....your body starts with the digestive system first. Over a period of time....it can break down and gluten can get to the inflammation receptors in your body. Also, stress causes inflammation. So, stress + inflammation = pain. They feel, if you get your digestive system working properly, eat the right foods and nutrients, control the stress.....then the inflammation will be controlled in your body and the Fibro/Pain will go away. They want me to take something called D-Ribose (Corvalen). It is supposed to give your muscles energy. They said they have seen good results in patients with Fibro. I had them order it in chewables and I will get it next week. I will see if it works. They think the doctors need to get at the "root" of the problem and inflammation/pain instead of masking it with bandaids (meds). Just a thought. I don't know if I am sold yet. Sorry I didn't have much more help for you.
