Hi MC4314.
As promised, following are some links (I didn't have a chance to verify if they're internet searchable the way they're typed, but if you have problems, let me know. There are more notes re:studies somewhere, but these days I feel like a mad scientist with my hair pointing up and trying to write with a screw driver. lol! with my place being upside down, that is!

Fractioned coconut oil, commonly known as MCT oil, in case you are indeed allergic to coconut oil, may be fine. Just need to test a little.
Another way to test Coconut oil for reactivity-other than the Pulse Test-
is by slightly rubbing of EVCO on the inside of your forearm and let it sit there for the day, observing any changes. Any redness or reaction on your skin will indicate some type of intolerance.
By the way you can also test your meds for safety, using Dr. Coca's Pulse Test.
Wishing you well.

Hi. I only have a couple minutes, but I agree that it might be the combination
of various biochenical reactions.
The coconut allergy could be a Jarish-Herxheimer reaction.
To confirm this you may do Dr. Coca's Pulse test. It will show reactivity to anything ingested that is offensive, including hidden and delayed reactions.
It is a free download and it takes about a week to complete, but well worth it!
There are very few known allergic reactions to coconut oil other than the
the aforementioned reaction. It's therapeutic value is unsurpassed, however,
you may use extra virgin olive oil instead for oil pulling.
Take care.
Niko
Thank you! I would love to see links when you get a chance.
I'm allergic to coconut, so I'm assuming that EVCO would not be an option for me.
As for meds, I've been on pretty much everything - all meds to date have had either no effect or caused odd reactions. For example, muscle relaxants actually caused muscle cramping, pain meds cause heightened pain, sleep meds cause restlessness, etc. Currently, meds are savella, fluoxetine, and meloxicam. However, I had abnormally high levels of serotonin prior to starting these meds and questioned if savella and fluoxetine are actually part of the problem given that they block serotonin, so my levels were rechecked yesterday - I should have those results on Monday.
Thank you so much for your expertise!
Huge connection! Tartaric acid is highly elevated in Fibro.
Excellent care of teeth may not be enough!
Tartaric acid - also a muscle toxin-must be controlled, not only for dental hygiene and health, but for containing fibro related symptoms.
Only a very low carb Alkaline diet will achieve this in combination
with Malic acid supplementation ( tartaric acid antagonist and vital for Krep's Cycle integrity)
Also suggest to do daily b4 breakfast "Oil Pulling" with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (EVCO) to remove billions of harmful bacteria and toxins from your oral cavity and teeth. Do a search and also visit the coconut research center website to read about all the health benefits of EVCO.
One of the Top Functional Foods!
Tooth decay is another door for toxins and bacteria to enter the body.
The connections with infections, inflammation, arthritis and FMS have been well established. I can send you links to studies if you are interested. Presently, I don't have my notes handy, as we're in the middle
of renos and I don't have them in my computer files. They kind a burried
in another room lol!
Topical analgesic and novacain may not work because of certain medication intake. Usually associated with long term effects, however, there are other variables that may influence this.
Let me know what meds you are taking , dosages and how long, perhaps
I can establish something more concrete.
But most likely linked to the action of other medications.
Next time, consider Hypnosis for a non-toxic alternative analgesic option.
It works better, and I would highly recommend it! It will be good to develop
a relation with a Hypnotherapist. While we're on the topic, why not consider Hypnotherapy for Fibro management.
There are Hypnotherapy programs, tailored for this. It involves a bundle of
sessions dealing with a. Pain management, b. Sleep improvement,
c. Emotional rebalance, d. Positive Program Instillation.
Usually 12 sessions spread over 3-4 months and a booster session every
3-6 months. Also included would be learning self-hypnosis. very valuable
to address anything in life!
I have nothing to gain in case you are skeptical. I KNOW it works
from my experience in this. What you do with this information is up to you.
If you need more details post again or pm me directly.
Wishing you well.
Take care.
