Fibromyalgia or R.A.

My question  may be a little complicated. I'm in pain all the time. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and R.A.
My tests for R.A. came out positive a couple of times then sometimes not. All I know is the pain. Sometimes my shoulders gets locked up and I can barely move them at all. The pain moves around my body. Now I have pain in my back that is extremely painful but there are no marks there. It even hurts to have a shirt on over it, it burns and aches.
I did two rounds of Interferon and it seems since then I have had many health issues.
Thanks for some guidance and support. Sincerely, Deborah

Hey deb,
Diagnosing and testing for Fibro and R.A. re extremely challenging.
There's a big % of misdiagnosis and negative tests.
There are many conditions with similar symtomology.
The fact that you had many issues with the Interferon, does not surprise me.
The good news is that the side effects are only permanent in about 1%.
From 3 months and up is the typical time before the side effects start to subside.
Did you get diagnosed by a Rheumy for both conditions?
Have you ruled out Lyme and Mycoplasma infections or co-infections?
In more cases than not, these are present in people that have been diagnosed with FMS.
Please read recent posts regarding this issue, as those infections are
difficult to diagnose but possibly treatable!
You may want to consult with a LLMD or get in touch with Dr. Garth Nicolson, the expert in this field. Just do a search.
For pain management look into the online pain relief summit  coming up Oct 3, 2011,that I posted a couple days ago. It is free!
Also Hypnotherapy is a great tool to manage FMS and other similar conditions. There are compehensive Hypnotherapy Fibro programs in many areas that deal with 1. Pain relief, 2. Sleep issues, 3. Emotional
issues. Usually it involves 12 sessions of Hypnotherapy within 2-3 months, complete instruction for self-hypnosis and booster sessions every 3-6 months
