Have you discussed this change with your physician? I think he/she would know best how long you would need to titrate up and if you would need to stop the Lyrica first or not. I took a low dose (50 mg/day) of Topamax along with my Lyrica dosages.  If I were in your place-- I would discuss with your doctor first of all.

I don't know anything about your particular situation to advise you on you meds.
Why the proposed switch?

Look at underlying issues like 1. unregulated or under-regulated hypothyroid
and 2. low grade infectious conditions

1. You need Free T3, Free T4 and Reverse T3 to rule out low thyroid function.
Please make sure you pay  attention to detail.
I communicate this information to 100s of people and while most of them do nothing about it, many of them reply to me that their thyroid function is fine, only because their (often flawed conventional ) tests indicated so!
The standard tests only check serum levels and NOT function in the cells.
They cannot detect type 2 hypothyroidism (thyroid resistance) which is more prevalent than type 1 hypothyroidism.
2. Pathogenic mycoplasma infections and/or co-infections are at the basis of about 75%-80% of conditions like FMS and CFS, according to Dr. Garth
Nicolson, a part-time contributor here in medhelp and the worlds leading expert in these types of infections. Just do a search under his name here,
for details.

You can also do a search here under "IWILLDOTHIS" , which will bring you to thread I started some time ago, packed with suggestions to help people deal with fibromyalgia better.

Best wishes,
Niko
