I'm very sorry. I've had fibromyalgia for over 15 years.  Do you have a definite diagnosis of Lupus? And they believe you have fibromyalgia on top of it?  Fibromyalgia is a connective tissue dis-ease.  What was the 3rd thing you mentioned being diagnosed with?  How long have you had the symptoms?
What are your symptoms?  As the previous members said medication is the trickiest part, it can take time to figure out what works best for you.  We might be able to make non-medical suggestions if you talk about your symptoms.  I've had 7 back/cervical surgeries on top of the FM so I am now on narcotics daily for chronic pain.  There are certain medications that are prescribed for FM, I don't know about Lupus.
I can tell you foods and what we put in our bodies will really make your pain worse. Eating a lot of sugar, processed foods, breads all made me so much worse.  There are two books, "Life Without Bread" and "Solved, The Riddle of Illness."  I'd love to talk further about my questions to you if that's something you feel would benefit you. I would also like to learn more about Lupus.
Take care, you have a beautiful family, take care of yourself for you and them!

Hello and Welcome to MedHelp,
Living with chronic pain can be hard, but there are many ways to combat the symptoms and get the progressive aspects of some of the diseases you mentioned under control so they do not become debilitating. Like IceDragon mentioned it won't go away, but with time and the right management, YES, the pain CAN ease up.

Are these new diagnoses for you? Your best course of action is to work with your doctor and to establish a good medication, diet, stress and exercise management program that will work with your lifestyle and needs.

Medication management is the most trickiest aspect, but is probably the first step to get under control. It sometimes can take up to six months to find the right cocktail for your body, but be patient, because it will happen. I've seen so many people work through the tough parts and come out feeling much better after that first milestone.

I would encourage you to take a peek around the MedHelp website and post your questions in the Arthritis and the Lupus Forum too if you'd like to get some additional insights. All of the communities on MedHelp are very helpful. Thanks for joining us!

I'm sorry you are having a bad time with this. Any one of these problems is really hard to deal with on its own. I have suspected Fibromyalgia, I went through over 12 years of tests and was most likely to have M.S. but although I have terrible problems everyday I still don't have a definate diagnosis. I'm afraid it doesn't go away but you learn to work with your symptoms, pace yourself etc. If you get a chance go to a pain clinic it does help - I did one last year its about 2 hours a day for one or 2 weeks, but its worth it. Try the meds they suggest and then when you find the ones that help stick with them, I take Tramadol & Paracetamol for pain, & Amitriptyline for muscle spasms. Hope that helps you a bit. xxx
