Hi there!
HTLV-II is a virus which infects the lymphocytes in our body. The majority of people infected with this virus remain asymptomatic. It can be transmitted through blood transfusion, injection drug use, unprotected sex with an HTLV-II infected partner or sex, breastfed by an HTLV-II infected mother etc. It can cause myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis in which there is progressive lower extremity weakness, numbness and stiffness of legs etc. There is no medication that can eliminate the virus from the body.  Few medications available can help reduce the symptoms of HTLV associated diseases. Hope it helps.
Best wishes!
