Oh wow! I don't think I could do it! You are a brave lady. I've thought about that. When in high school they made us run, and I mean MADE, or we would fail, I thought that I was dying as I ran. I said to myself If I ever had to run for my life, I'd probably be a goner!
A stress test when you have Fibromyalgia is no walk in the park. I do believe that we women are a strong minded lot and can endure a short run compared to a lifetime of significant debilitating symptoms.
I had to do the treadmill at one speed, then higher and then higher until my pulse reached 139 beats per minute. On the first level my FM hurt in my left leg and right hip, by the second level I used a longer stride which actually helped, but when they raised the incline and the speed my legs started the BURN. The burn increased and I withstood it as long as I could, now going on 6 minutes. I finally said when my pulse was 130 that I could no longer do it any more, they pushed the radioactive isotope into the attached catheter and said "ok, now just 2 more minutes" . By time that time passed and they stopped the treadmill, my legs would not move. They felt like they were made of cement. I thought to myself, "if I was ever being chased, I had better be able to duck into a good hiding space, or know some pretty nifty moves, cause with running, I'd be caughy ;0o
Well, I did it! The other two test are easy, Aortic Ultra sound and hmmm ? Around the 12th I will know the results.
I've had a bad bug (virus or bacterial infection) from Oct. to Jan. and what I think is it affected a bunch of my systems including vascular. We will see.
Thank you for your concern girls.

Hi, The cardiologist is having me get a carartid artery US, echo cardiogram, and get this, a 4-5 hour nuclear stress test which is being done tomorrow.
I guess after this I will know what is raising my BP.
That is great to hear. I hope they can help you with your concerns at your visit. Please let us know how it goes today when you return. I would like to hear what they have to say about your symptoms.
Thank you all! I've been really concerned and feel better knowing I am not alone. I am fortunate in that the Cardiologist's office did not like the sound of my symptoms, headache, neck pain etc, and called me and put me in for today.
Thank you for your gentle words and hugs. :0}
Hi there;
My blood pressure has been acting up for a couple of months. I check it in the mornings and it's fine. I check it again at night and it's a little high. I go to the doctor and when they check it, it's high, I suffer from white syndrome. I also take Atenolol and on my last visit my internist raised it.
The funny thing about the whole thing is that I never had problems with my BP until I had the knee replaced. Seems that having had the multiple surgeries on the knee wreaked havoc with everything on me. I hope you start feeling better, you know I'm here.
gentle hugs

I'm not sure what causes it, other than it's the nature of the illness. One of my neighbors was constantly going in and out with her BP. They would try something and it would work for a while, then stop and they would have to switch her to something else. She did this for years.
Yes, it very well could have been the antidepressant. While i've not experienced problems coming off them, i've heard many horror stories of those who did.
I hope it gets better for you soon. Take care of yourself.
Knowing Baclofen can lower BP convinced me it was not the cause of the rise in BP. I take Atenolol for my BP. The Dr. raised it and it is OK but I still feel flushed. It is so bothersome to have this.
It was interesting to find you saying that BP can suddenly become unstable. What is usually the causes of that.
I've not gained weight, even though I'm 20 lbs overweight. I recently in Dec. went off an SNRI antidepressant. I was thinking maybe my body/brain was simply irritated by this.
i also take baclofen for my muscles it is not a high blood pressure medicine. it is a muscle relaxer.i have it pumped into my system by a pump that is inserted in my body. i was on wellbutrin for trying to guit smoking but did not work. my blood pressure does the same thing. i think somepeople just have a hard time with theirs ,al. they keep doing for me is change it when it gets that way. ihave found that a diretic added to this helps better. kaye
I haven't had this experience, but knowing some who have had blood pressure problems, there are times that the medications need to be changed because they became ineffective. It's difficult to get the right med. and dosage sometimes.
I wouldn't think if you've been on Wellbutrin for 4 yrs. that it would suddenly do this, unless you had the dose increased.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help and I hope you can find out why this is happening soon. Take care please.
