How many of you have gained alot of weight since having Fibromyalgia?

I have gained over 80 pounds since having fibromyalgia. I am just not able to exercise or be active like I used to be. I hear that you need to force yourself to exercise, but I suffer more after I do. Do any of you have the same problem?

I have not gained weight.  I watch everything I eat and do exercise even though it is difficult.

I gained weight after my surgery to remove scar tissue last October but I've shed a few pounds since then.  I can't exercise for more than 30minutes and sometimes not even that.  Every time I start feeling better I try a little more and then I end up sick for a week so I don't bother.  I just putter around the house and the yard and that's good enough for me!

Yes, I have gained about 20 pounds, can't seem to lose it and when I exercise like I used to, I pay for it for a couple of days, so try to keep your exercise low impact and try to eat right, and we all know how that is, hard to do. I hope you can though!

I have lost 30 lbs pounds since being told I have fibro. (2yrs ago)

I do not work out, but I do eat, especially protein (deli meat, grilled chicken, tuna), I also crave salty crackers and chips.....eat a lot of cereal bars, and dry cereal, I can't do dairy products or eggs..

I am 5'2 and weigh about 96 lbs, when i started having problems i weighed 124. They tell me it is fibro, but I am going to be honest and tell you, I do not HAVE it despite of what a doctor said. .....

Fibro should not give you night sweats....

You'll probably hate me....but I've acctually lost weight since my diagnosis. I was diagnosed in January. I was about 117 at the time. As of this week I'm down to 98 pounds. I'm only about 5'1". I have not been trying to loose weight. I don't excersise. I've been eating a vegitarian, no sugar, low carb diet as my Naturopath recommended. Still feeling crappy though if that makes you feel any better. :-)

I gained about 45-50 after having my knee surgeries and having been DXed with fibro/cfs. I've lost all of it except 5 pounds and I won't even worry about that. I have to force myself to eat at times, and when I am ill with a flare, all I can tolerate is soup and plenty of water.

Yes I have gained a lot of weight. One reason is the medication I am on. (Lyrica)
I do things I know I shouldn't and pay for it later. Exercise is hard on me also!

I have gained, but not over 10 lbs.  It does make a difference when one just can't get a good workout...and we can't because it puts us down for days when we do.  It's important to pace the exercises so that we get some into our day, but not overdo it.

Water aerobics, walking, yoga...anything that is low-impact can be beneficial.
