For years my sons Dr. has prescribed my time off on a as needed basis because it is not possible to predict the frequency and duration, due to his disability, and now my employer wants to know specificly how frequent and how long I need to take intermittent leave. Can or should I say 31 days out of the month just to ensure that I may utilize it for more than several days without being denied/restricted???
If you are going to give a full time need for leave, it may affect your job permanently. You will have to base it on the disability and the trend its taking. You may even have to re inforce your statement with your doctors confirmation letter. This will help to better understand things.
