Is fibromyalgia heriditary?

I wanted to kmow if fibromyaligia is heriditary. My mom was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 10 years ago.  I don't think these two are related,but I recently underwent surgery for colon cancer back in December 2007, I've been feeling great but the last few days my legs and between my shoulders have been really achy, my temp has been at 99.8 it goes away when I take advil but comes back about 8 hours later.  I do exercise regularly.  It could be nothing more than a cold.

The rheumy I saw said it was.  He asked me if my mother or any of my siblings had it.
