Is this what I have?

About 10 monthes ago I started having wide spread body aches.  After that I was hospitalized with an irregular heart rate.  I've seen many doctors.  In april I saw a rhumat. dr. at the university hospital in my state.  She did many test and finally told me I had fibromyalgia.  She sent me home with no meds and sugested I take water therapy.  She said there was nothing she could do about it and she did not have to see me any more.  It was up to me.  Now six monthes later,  I can't hardly move.  I have lost alot of use of my hands.  I wake in the morning and during the night with very bad pain in my fingers( to the point I can't move them).  My hands and feet go to sleep, usally when I lay flat or sit.  I can't hold things, because my fingers mold to what ever I'm holding(pen, fork, toothbrush).  The joints in my fingers and toes look wierd.  I can't climb the bleachers to watch my sons play football.  I need help and I don't feel like this doctor whats to do anything.  Any sugestions?

It can be hard to find a doctor that supports the diagnosis, but is sounds like you are so miserable, something has to be done. I try and remember that doctors work for us, so we can "fire" them. I have also found nurse practititoners to be helpful is medication managment, especially if you have an idea of some things to try. Good luck!

Try change doctor, look up a clinic that actualy deals with fibromyalgia, type in google "fibromyalgia and the name of the area you live" see what comes up. Some doctors are not very understanding about this illness and think it's all in our minds... but you and I know different we suffer of something that the cause has not been found yet, so hang in there, there is lots of us and together we'll find solution!

"my fingers mold to what ever I'm holding(pen, fork, toothbrush)"

I strongly suggest ruling out lyme (which can take a few tests... you might want to post in the lyme forum for the best tests) and/or rheumatoid arthritis.

Keep us posted... we care !
