Lazer therapy

I have been reading about lazer therapy for fibromyalgia and various other conditions.  Do you have any information or are you aware of any medical websites where I could research this further.  Thank You for your time.

Hi Brent ,
Fibromyalgia has always been treated with pain killers , sedatives , Steroid injections and anti depressants since a long time . The medications always have a lot of side effects and drug interactions that harm the body .There has been a look out for less invasive treatments or to avoid drug interactions and side effects. Laser therapy is a fast-growing and less invasive treatment option and has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for short-term pain management. This treatment has been found to be safe and effective for treating fatigue , pain, muscle spasm, morning stiffness, and reduction of number of  tender points in fibromyalgia .
Laser therapy, also called cold laser therapy or low level laser therapy (LLLT), involves the application of low-intensity lasers to specific areas or so called Tender points of the body in Fibromyalgia patients to stimulate endorphins. These endorphins are naturally present in the brain and adrenal glands, and when stimulated help to block transmission of pain signals to the brain and relax the patient. Another function that the therapy serves is – when lasers are applied directly to tender points, the light energy emitted can initiate and accelerate  cell growth. The cell growth promotes healing in painful, damaged tissue. Blood and lymph circulation is stimulated in the areas and nerve function is improved .No side effects have been reported by patients after Laser Therapy . Laser therapy has also been used for the treatment of Arthritis , tendinitis and migraines .
You may find for more details regarding laser therapy in the Search option on Medhelp .Some chiropractors ,physiotherapists , and alternative medicine centers offer laser therapy treatments. Please check local facilities to find skilled laser therapy practitioners near you . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !

I had just gone to my pcp on friday.  He was going to call a chiropractor about some sort of lazer wanding he does for pain.  (I am having pain in ribs right now.)  I'm not sure what he was talking about, but will make sure I pass it along when I find out more.

Hope someone else can add info for you
