I have had the WORST pain in my legs recently. The sides of my shins feel like they are constantly flexed and I cannot fix it. Also, the sides of my butt/hips hurt so badly that I feel like I need to punch them to make them feel better! What can I do about this?! I've been able to deal with most things, but this is pretty new, and I dont know how to fix myself... Kind of like I have the flu, and need to move and stretch my legs, or cut them off. I know I have restless legs, but this is more than that. Any suggestions?
Do get yourself checked out by a doctor. Your symptoms do sound like they could be fibromyalgia but it could be something else too. In the mean time soak in the tub, use a heating pad, stretching is good, don't over exert yourself, take NSAIDs and get lots of sleep. Massage can help too. Are you feeling extra fatigued?
I have been diagnosed with fibro since I was 19- I get checked for thyroid every year, but nope! I'm healthy otherwise!!
I do use a heating pad every night, stretch every morning and night, and get massaged every two weeks. This is a new symptom- really really hurts and is uncomfortable. Not restless legs- its weird! Like right down the sides of my legs- can't stretch it out!!!
It sounds like a bit of sciatica to me. Try an ice pack for about 20 minutes right at bedtime instead of heat on the small of your back. With sciatica you'll have swelling and heat will only make it worse- at least in my case and I have BAD sciatica. I will ice it to calm the symptoms down. Also, like Trudie mentioned Ibuprofen or Aleve might be helpful as well. Good luck.
Sodium Benzoate and Sodium Bisulfate lower blood Potassium levels to a point where there is throbbing of the hands, arms, legs....the whole body. These are preservatives in wet food products. Watch out!!! It is in drive-through and restaurant beverages and dipping sauces....but not fresh made ice tea. Also, Sodas make our blood pH acidic because of the phosphoric acid also flushes calcium out of our blood through our kidneys instead of keeping it in the blood, leading to pain. Coffee also can cause pain because coffee has a high acid content, but also because caffeine triggers the release of adrenaline which triggers the flight or fight response which encourages blood sugar to go high, and then the unused blood sugar converts to an acid. So if you drink coffee, make sure to do something physical to use up the blood sugar, like vacuuming the house, and be sure to supplement with cal/mag and potassium gluconate. Bananas, potatoes and oranges have potassium, so try to get those into your diet every day. During an "attack" I have notices that a little gin with juice helps. Also, APPLE CIDER VINEGAR or PURE Cranberry Juice with Pomegranate Juice mixed. These both must be labeled "PURE" so your not getting some other juice in there. God bless all who have this and read this and heed what I have shared. Watch out for what is in the foods and beverages you are eating!
