Cramps or spasm. Deep pain or sharp pain? When you have to go, is it involuntary?
The fainting, is it accompanied with a whole body welling up from the cramp, ringing ears etc.?

Hey annmarie,
Welcome to the forum.
Yes there is.
Effects of food intolerances, due to metabolic dysfunction (cramping-alerting that something is wrong)
or severe allergic reactions, causing overstimulation of the vagus nerve
in the gut. The vagus nerve is one of the longest and connects the abdominal area to the brain.
Limited oxygen supply to the brain due to inhibited blood flow (fainting sensation) follows the "distress" call relayed by the overstimulated vagus nerve.
Diarrhea is a response to remedy this by eliminating the offensive substance(s) fast.
Of course there are other possibilities, however, very suspect are :
Simple carbohydrates , artificial sugars, MSG (disguised  under many different names!), food additives, alcohol, pesticides and others.

Suggestions:
Drastic reduction or elimination from the diet of :
Simple carbs, sodas, junk food, commercial baked goods . Alcoholic drinks, Fried , processed or altered foods, seafood,

Consumption of :
Fresh organic salads and vegetables. Drizzle with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and
Fresh Lemon juice.
Replace table salt with 100% natural unprocessed sea salt.
Pastured meat (free range-grass fed). Mercury free cold water fish,
Limited organic dairy  and from "B" cow's milk (hard to find) or goat's milk
if tolerated.
Replace ALL cooking oils with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (One of the top functional foods-check it out at the coconut research center website)
Limited fruit and pure fruit juices.
Quality Probiotics and Prebiotics.
Some tea and or coffee O.K.
Deep conscious breathing. Look into Pranayama Breathing. Will become a habitual event (subconscious) after practicing extensively.
This is an extremely important factor in wellness and health,
however, grossly neglected.
Plenty of spring or filtered water (not from plastic bottles)
and daily physical activity.
Meditate daily -if unable use meditation cds for heath and wellness.
