Lyrica or Gabapentin for IBS
My IBS is tied to mini, barely noticeable, seizures when tired or falling asleep.

Gabapentin seemed to help a lot but it was hard to maintain a steady state. When the half life was reached, I'd have spasms again until the next dose.

I'm now trying Lyrica and wonder if 75mg 12 hours apart will do the trick.

The next drug to try would also be for seizures, Primidone.

Any experiences you share would be welcome.

Thanks,

Mark

To date, no study has been performed in the United States examining the clinical effects of Pregabalin (Lyrica) in IBS patients.

FYI, there are high placebo rates for IBS, making us question the "actual "
therapeutic effect of pharmacological treatment, when the placebo effect is
taken out of the equation, in light of the possible adverse side effects.

Look for underlying causes and imbalances, as pharmacological treatments cannot offer anything more than some symptom relief, if and when they work.
Perhaps consider a Naturopathic or Holistic Doctor to help you with this.

Please post also at the IBS community, as here it is the Fibromyalgia
Community and you may get limited response to your question.

Wishing you well.
