Malabsorption

Malabsorption

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and this year have undertaken private tests with a London Clinic. They have shown a few things : Adrenal Exhaustion, problems with Mitochondria, low levels of pancreatic enzymes, low siga levels and low stomach acid. The clinic says i have absorption issues which will be contributing to my fatigue. They have been treating me for about one year now. Treatment for this has been in the form of taking hcl tablets with every meal along with a product called 'Pancreas' by Allergy Research also with every meal (this is a natural glandular product!) I have improved about 25-30% but have remained at the same level for about 7 months now with no further improvement. The last stool test taken showed that neither my chymotrypsin or siga levels had increased after 1 year of treatment.
As this private treatment has been costing me a lot of money, especially considering I can only manage to work 4 hours a day, I asked my GP if I could be referred on the NHS to get some help for the absorption problem. I saw the consultant yesterday. He completely dismissed the private test results and said they mean nothing, that I do not have an absorption problem, and that I have wasted my money. He is running some blood tests (checking 24 things) plus sending me for a chest xray and scan of the stomach to check my organs.
I am totally confused as you can imagine. I know the NHS view of treatment for CFS, and also know they do not look kindly on alternative treatments. I expect all of the blood tests to come back ok. I know there is something physically wrong with me because I simply cannot do as much as I used to-I was very very active before getting ill.
I would like to know from an independent person if the test results I have from the private clinic would suggest absorption issues, and how much this could be contributing to my fatigue. i can give you actual results if that would help. I would appreciate any help, thank you.

what the private tests have shown are symptoms that are consistent with a number of problems i have/ had. my dr diagnosed 'leaky gut' with a simple urine test. she also sent me off for some gut bacterial tests. i know, it gets expensive. but the leaky gut means malabsorption, so not enough nutrients to body for repair and nutrition. the gut (poope) tests showed bile problems and pancreatic problems for me. the gut imbalances i had [way too many of the bad guys and not enough of the good guys] lead to toxic build up in the body which leads to some fatigue and the head-to-toe inflammation.
i've had so many therapies and vitamins and dietary regimens that it's difficult to say any one thing has actually been the 'key'. i've ben in it over three years and am juuust getting significantly better - not back at work by any means, but i don't have to lie down every hour and limit movements to nearly nothing.
emotional upset and anger (unexpressed) -> bile and pancreatic changes -> proliferation of bad gut bacteria and decimation of the good bacteria -> inflamed gut lining  -> malabsorption and toxins in body system -> fatigue, inflammation and pain.
it has taken me maybe 8months since getting the gut tests (and meal supplements like pancratic enzyme) to get this well, yes it sure didn't get better straightaway.
another thing i found helpful was cutting out wheat and dairy (and sugar). ***** but was helpful for me...
i really believe that with the gut health thing, you are barking up the right tree. good luck.
