Hi!
Benzodiazepines (Klonopin) are difficult drugs to use and discontinue. I probably don't need to tell you how habit forming it is.
Do you have access to a really good pharmacist? I find that these are the best folks to discuss these issues with because they are more knowledgeable about drug interactions than physicians.
I WOULD NOT add any herbals into this mix. These are seizure meds. Proceed with caution!
Hope this helps!
Lyrica does cause brain fog. My boyfriend who has FMS takes Celexa (similar to Lexapro) along with Klonopin for anxiety. FMSers do get anxiety, it is one of the many symptoms. Everyone is different, some may have a lot of anxiety while others have none. Does the Lyrica help you?
I would be careful with anything herbal. Check with your dr first. It's really hard to know exactly what is in an herbal medication since they are not regulated by the FDA.
I'm definitely not a dr, but if the Klonopin helps then don't sweat it. .5 2X a day is really not that much. What about Lexapro? There's just as many chemicals in that. If you have been taking Klonopin and you haven't been obsessing about the next time you're going to take it (psychological addition), then I think you will be okay.
However, that's just an opinion.
I found it interesting that you complained about the brain fog on Lexapro and yet Lyrica causes bad brain fog too! I can't function on Lyrica, in part because of that. I can't drive and heaven forbid, I do the checkbook!!! LOLs! Mixing those two drugs would probably send you over the edge.
