Hello everyone. I am a 62 year old male with fibromyalgia. I know, not many guys with this. Anyway, just wanted to check in here as just found this site a few days ago. Kinda wanted to keep in touch and follow along with what might help or not help. I pretty much ache to hurt all the time. Winter seems to be the worst. Feel fairly good in summer heat, but when drops to around 70, the hurt really starts to set in. Some mild depression at times, but nothing serious. thanks for listening. trikerider

Hello, and thanks for your response. I joined this site for help and to talk with others that have fibromylgia. I came in today to say goodbye if no responses to my post. Thought maybe people figured I was here for some other purpose being a guy. Not many guys have this I understand. Wish I was one of them, but no. Anyway, you have renewed my faith a little that someone cares about a guy with it. I'm just feeling a little down I guess today. I have good and bad days. None that have keep me in bed all day yet. Hope they don't come. Does get tiring with constant ache though. Anyone use one of those infra-red sauna's? It help if you do? Thanks again Searching1111. trikerider

Welcome!  The other males with fibro will be glad to see you.  You are outnumbered, but welcome!   Many good posts on what helps, here.  My "About Me" shares what has worked for me, but it's a whole life thing.  I treat the body, mind and spirit and sometimes that approach works wonders with the depression.  I have Seasonal Affective Disorder.  That always makes me smile that someone dreampt up the name that was an acronym as SAD.  pathetic.

Sunshine really does help.  I am trying tanning booths this winter. . .I know, shudder.  I've never liked the idea, but I NEED light!  I'll let you know if it helps, but those tanning salons would be a weird scenario for you, I bet.  I don't like 'em.  I do hope you find what works for you.
