Not to sure

I am 25 years old and when I was 18 I went through a week long phase of all over muscle aches much worse all over my back and hips, all my joints are stiff, my skin constantly felt as though it was on fire and like I felt like I was running a fever, I couldn't get out of bed and my head was in a constant state of fog.  After the episode I came down with tonsilitis.  Then when I was 22 it happened all over again same symptoms and I ended up coming down with RSV, since then it has happened 2 more times, and then it started up again about a week ago only this time it is unbearable, I'm having to take ibrpofen constantly just to be able to function enough to take care of my children.  I have searched online all over the place and the only thing that I have found that matches is Fibromyalgia, my doctor can't see me until next week is there anything I can do until then to help alleviate the pain and discomfort?

Honestly, to me, it doesn't sound like fibro.  While some of the symptoms of fibro are all over pain, stiffness, fatigue, the diagnosis of fibro won't even be considered unless these symptoms have been present for a minimum of 3 months straight.  If you're having symptoms for about a week at a time and usually end up sick afterward, I would think more of your trying to fight off an infection or illness of some sort and you're having the pain and head fogginess prior to actually showing the signs of whatever illness it is.  Some of your symptoms are sometimes present in lupus also, so that could be a possibility.

It's still a good idea to get checked by your doctor and see what he/she thinks.

In the meantime, I would continue what you're doing - ibuprofen or tylenol for the pain, rest as much as possible, heating pad to help with pain/stiffness or even a warm shower or bath.  You can try ice, however, I personally find that ice makes me hurt much worse.

Best of luck and let us know what you find out from the doc!
