POTS,CFS

I have POTS. Sometimes(most of the time) my entire body aches, from my neck to my ankles and I feel sooo weak. This could be CFS, but I have not been diagnosed with it yet. I have been on Lortab for 5 years for back pain, and that use to help. Now I am used to it and the fatigue and pain is only getting worse. Yes, the doctor prescribed me Roxicodone for a couple of months and that really helped(with pain and fatigue), but I don't want to be addicted to another pain medicine. Once off of the Roxicodone, all my symptoms returned with avengance. I have been extremely weak with stomach and leg pain for a year and a half now, ever since an electrocution. What other medications do you suppose I could suggest to the doctor for extreme weakness(CFS?)? I noticed someone mentioned Lyrica. I am already on Lamictal and Risperdal for Bi-polar Mania. Does anyone know if these are compatable? Does anyone have the confusion with pain meds, how they help, and not wanting to be on them? Any input would be appreciated.

I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (CFS) 2 years ago and had been prescribed pain med after pain med along with Cymbalta for anxiety and Lyrica.  I recently moved and was not able to get the medications in this area and had to withdraw from all of them at the same time along with quitting smoking.  I am actually pain free most of the time and I take a motrin at bedtime for RLS pain which is excrutiating.  I feel better and even though I refused to believe it two years ago, the best way to fight this is to take the pain one day at a time, don't over do it... good luck.  Let me know if you want to chat at amother time.

I successfully treated my POTS by treating the cause of my CFS. Feel free to send me a PM if you'd like.

I hate that I have to take pain meds but I do have to take them. The pain is just too unbearable without them. I understand your fear of addiction but if you really need them honey, then dont you think it is worth it? Also, both Lortab and Roxi are opiate meds. Therefore, you would not really be getting addicted to another class of meds.. You know what Im saying? The Roxi is just a lot stronger than Lortab.

Im not sure what meds are compatable with your Bi-polar meds. Im sure you can look it up on the internet. I look stuff like that up on Yahoo Health all the time. You could also ask your pharmacist.

Do you have FM or have you been checked for it? CFS has such similar symptoms but there are differences and it is diagnosed differently.
