SSDI denial -- Physicians Asst?

SSDI denial -- Physicians Asst?

I've been on Social Security disability for several years and will probably be reviewed next year. I recently started seeing a Physicians Assistant and she has been helpful and caring.  I'm wondering if anyone has had problems getting their benefits continued b/c they were seeing a PA and not an MD.

Thanks,
Laura

That is a difficult one.........I know PA is authorized to write prescription, but not a full MD.  My disability review never really needed MD to confirm.  However, in the review notice they always state that if they have any questions with your answers/and, or continue disability, they will contact your treating physician.  So, I think, it may be wise for you  still go to a MD periodically, just so you're covered.

Good luck
