Savella

I have been sickly for 2.5 yrs and was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  I tried cymbalta up to 120mg which did not work and now savella.  In just 24 hrs, savella has totally messed me up.  I am extremely depressed and angry, alot of pain and nausea.  The depression and anger is my biggest concern.  Has anyone else experienced this in just a 24 hour period?  I took the savella in the morning and literally felt the difference in me throughout the day.  I never felt this way in the 2.5 yrs before getting diagnosed.  This is horrible and very scary.  Thinking that I will NOT take this medication again tomorrow....

I recently started Savella also. I was taking Cymbalta just like  you, with little results.  I went through a period of depression/miserable feeling when I was decreasing the Cymbalta and increasing the Savella. At the time I assumed it was from the Cymbalta? Now I am not so sure. I have been on the Savella for two weeks. I don't really notice much of a difference besides I am short tempered and angry alot. This is abnormal for me, I usually am very easy going and passive. I am interested in hearing your and others experiences.

Thank god i read as i am going to dr on the 29,i have been on celexa and has worked GREAT.But ive been reading that savella is the drug of  chose for fibro. and i was going to switch meds,but now i think i will wait.Lord knows if i have any more anger i might be in trouble. :)Im glad i read this.....     thanks ..Danny

FYI-click on the tag for savella,it is not a SSRI it is a SNRI,that could expain the side effects,all have side effects but these look pretty nasty... hope that helps,i will not take it now,thanks for posting it REALLY helped me.... Danny in pain from he##

I took Savella for 7 months and at first, it seemed to work great but then I started having all kinds of problems, heart palpitations (I have a heart issue too), anger, uncontrollable moods, it was awful. I weaned off of it and have never been more happy. I don't recommend it at all, although everyone is different.

I just wanted to say also that I am on a low dose Cymbalta and that works for me. I know it's not for everybody but no side effects like the Savella. I wish the best for you.
