Severe Reaction To Morphine

I was recently hospitalized due to a severe reactionn to Morphine ER. The drs from the Emergency Room said that I had some fluid on my lungs. and ran tests to make sure that it hadn't effected my heart. The did an echocardiogram and a resting stress test , also gave me lasix to relieve the fluid in my lungs. It was quite an ordeal. They both came back normal so they sent me home. I am very weak right now, however I am sure within the next few days I will start feeling better. Wish me luck and prayers.

I was only taking morphine for 3 to 4 weeks. At first I was taking Morphine 15mg ER and then 30mg ER. It may be something else according to my dr. He is now sending me to a neurologist for some tests for possible fluid on the brain. I have short-term memory loss, balance problems and other problems to numerous to tell. So wish me luck

Wow...that must have been pretty darn scary...glad you made it home again safe and sound and I sure hope that they keep a closer eye on that Morphine...if you are indeed still taking it!

I'm so sorry for your ordeal!! thank goodness your hearet was o.k.

How long had you been on the morphine? and have they taken you off it now?

Do you take it just for the fibro or do you other heatlh issues?
