Tramadol and vaginal bleeding...

I was wondering if anyone else had the issue with vaginal bleeding and tramadol, or any pain meds for that matter.

I haven't been on tramadol for a while, however I started it back up today and worked all day with no chance to use the restroom. When I went to change out of work clothes I realized that I had bleeding. The reason this is out of ordinary is because I am on Depo and haven't had any periods or anything in about 3 years.

This seems to happen with pain medication and I was just wondering if anyone else had this and possibly a theory as to why this happens???

I was wondering if you found out whether there is a link?  I've been on Tramadol for 2 months and I've been bleeding for two months.  I did not take Tramadol last night, the bleeding stopped over night.  I took a Tramadol this morning at about 8 am and I've just wakened to bleeding again.

Thanks.

You bet mae I totally will. Hope you get better too! I'm bleeding again, after having 2 doses of Tramadol yesterday, but it stopped the day after i had just one does. How odd. It's not like it's freaking me out, and I know if I call my doctor and ask her she'll really think I'm a crack pot, because I call her all the time with odd questions.

I'm glad to hear that is has stopped.  I haven't heard of anyone having this reaction before, but it it's something that has happened previously when you took pain meds, it's prob. just the way your body reacts before it adjusts.  I'm so happy that it is working on your pain.  Hope it's all just a passing thing and you do better soon.

Take care of yourself LexiFaye.

Hmmm. This is something I have always had happen just a little bit whenever I take pain medication. It's stopped...

The doctor that prescribed it knows all my meds, so I hope it's not an interaction, as it is something that is helping and I can actually function, unlike other pain medications. Ahhh. Well I'll call her and check. Maybe it's some crazy fluke, as this is ME of course, and I am a living fluke of a person medically.

Thanks for the research too Kit! I looked it up too but the amount of stuff I had to look through I kinda gave up.

The only connection to bleeding vs using tramadol was during pregnancy.  Vaginal bleeding is not noted as a side-effect, but something is taking place as you haven't had it for a few years.

Are you taking any other pain medications along with this?  These can sometimes be hard on ones stomach...please give a call to your physician and let him/her know.  I don't think it's related, but as kit stated, it can interact with other meds.

Hope all goes well.

Hi,

I just did a quick google on 'Tramadol and Veginal Bleeding' and found some relation between the two, and it might interact with other meds you're taking.

usually has good info. and drug side effects and interations.
.  Since I'm in a very mush jello mode today, I didn't spend much time reading every article I found.  Try using your search engine and see what you can find.

I've never had side effects like that........I would call/visit my doctor who prescribe Tramadol to me and get to the bottom of this issue.  vaginal bleeding sounds very abnormal especially that you haven't had it for 3 years.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
