Vitamin D

Hello All,  I have a question regarding vitamin D.  I was given two months worth of vitamin d once again from my new rheumatologist.  When she asked if I remembered if the vitamin d worked for me when I took it back in October and November, I couldn't say for sure but now since I started taking it again on March 20th, which is once a week.  I took the second pill yesterday and realized that the vitamin d makes my right hip hurt with radiating pain down my leg.  The same thing happened when I took the vitamin d back in October which is when my PCP sent me for an XRay of the right hip.  Sorry I'm rambling but I just can't seem to type what I need to say.  Anyway, does or have anyone else had this problem?  I will be calling the rheumatologist on Monday to let her know.  Thanks

Did your doctor check your D level before giving this to you?  You need to get a certain amount of D, but to much can cause problems as well.  If you need it and can't take the vitamins, they will need to work something else out.  Maybe increase your intake with natural sources.  You do need to talk with them to let them know what is going on.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi I just started taking the vitamin D about 3 weeks ago.  Went to doctor complaining of verrry bad muscle aches in arms and legs.  My joints also ached but I have had that for about 8 years.  He did the test and I am low.  I am taking it and the only thing I notice is if I take a full pill my stomach hurts a little.  So now I break it in half and talk half in the morning and half at night with food.  It got so bad with the muscle twitches I went to the rhemy and thats when the diagnosed Fibro.  So now I'm waiting to see if it's the vitamin d or if I truly have fibro.  I have not had any other side effects that I know of.  Call your doc you would be surprized what some meds will do to you.  My doctor also told me to go outside without sunscreen for a while evey day.  That way you can get  vitamin d the natural way.  Who new all these years of sunscreen would come back and bite me in my rear end.
