It's not known to be associtated with genital herpes contraction. It's associated with HHV6 which is in the herpes family. Did you get throughly tested for all STDs? With CFS onset it's suggested to get tested for...my mind just went blank...syphillis...and the other one you'd never think would be correlated with this? Also, things like TB, hepatitsis, and Lyme (which obviously you don't get from a person - and only the Western Blot test is useful), HIV, & mono (EBV). Post-viral CFS can be triggered by all sorts of viruses, known and unknown, so it's possible that you were triggered by the herpes.
Hi
I know this is a old posting but in there you mentioned that fibro is part of the herpes virus can having anytype of herpes cause fibro?
i ask this as in 2002 i contracted herpes genital and have had non stop problems since. neuro wise.
For your marriage - ask your husband to help you research it? It will give him a sense of what you are going through and give him a practial way to channel his frustration with it.
Not to overwhelm you, but Dr. Charles Lapp is someplace down in the Carolina's. He's a known CFS expert and could at least get you started. I just scrolled down and saw your other post. I didn't realize you'd already posted symptoms that are definitely CFS (and/or FM which overlap a lot) and/or RA. Glad you found a doctor to work with.
Another odd, but important suggestion... quietly get a hold of your company's Long Term Disablity plan and read through it. (Or at this point ask your husband to so you can sleep.) Also, if you can buy LTD independently for yourself (and the problem will be the pre-existing clauses) then do it. The independent ones are taxed and enforced differently and better so they are worth having when they can be gotten. If you do decide to stop working and have access to any LTD plan, if you leave work while receiving full pay instead of trying part time for a while, will get you bigger long term payments. Hopefully it won't come to this for you, but if it does it's helps so much to have gotten informed and handled it well to begin with.
P.S. In the 2 weeks you won't see a full response. But if you see a slight improvement, then continuing not to eat it, you'll see improvements for six months or more. It's all a royal pain, but without that I wouldn't have been well enough to look at information to seek other treatments and insights into CFS. Another common food, is that organics can make a difference. Also, non-hormone non-antibiotic chicken instead of regular. I know, it's a pain, and sounds nutty, but for a quick way to get someplace, it's a good place to start.
This is such a debilitating disease. Have you been diagnosed for a long time, or is this a new dx. Could you work part time or some time at home? Also there is a Federal Family Medical Leave that you can take advantage of. You can take up to12 weeks off from work, with guaranteed return to work at same job.The 12 weeks don't have to be consecutive. It is good for a year, than after a year back to work you can invoke it again. I have used it twice myself. Once for 6 weeks when my husband was dying. And again in June for 4 weeks for cervical fusion. Your employers aren't even allowed to question you about it, there are some papers for your doctor to fill out, but it is for situations like this. Are your family good about sitting down together and discussing things. Maybe delegating some chores to each person would help take some of the whole load off of you. My husband was the best in the world, when I was tired or needed to nap, he was very understanding. I miss him a lot. He didn't care if dishes weren't done, or vacuuming or whatever. I know you have probably heard it before, but stress makes fibro worse, try to take each day as it comes. Let me know how you are doing. God Bless
As strange as it sounds, very often these things respond to removing foods from your diet (When hopkins had a cfs program they recommended this...long story how they discovered it.) Try one or a few at a time for two weeks each removing anything you suspect such as egg, dairy (including casinen protein, read labels), soy, tomatoes, corn, wheat, fish, nuts, peanuts. It won't heal you, but I went from bedridden to functioning. I've noticed in casual conversations that about 70% of people who see symptom improvement, will have just done somthing to their diet. If you can find a good CFS doctor (and that's not at all easy), it would help look at all the treatment possiblities. The website for the cfids association of america has information.
Another minor trick I used, I used to go out to my car at lunch with a travel alarm clock and nap.
Hey, your not alone. I have the same problem and effecting my marriage life.
I think what helps me is that....First
What type of test have you done ?
Second, i take following.
SInce major CFIDS and Fibro are cause of some sort of herpes family.
Do you have frequent headaches, ,like pretty bad, that starts on top of your head and you have eye pain ?
Okay..>Well anyways, i take following:
1000 mg of L-Lysin , 1000 Mg of Vitamin C , and 1000 Mg of Ginger Powder, 1 - tablet of B-12 Complex.
By Taking Ginger, it will take the nasuea and sleepiness out.
You have to take it for few weeks before you see anything.
But it will stop you from falling alseep and eliminate little fatigue.
try that let me know.
