What would you do?

What would you do?

I'm feeling weird the last 3 days.  For about 6 weeks my right side has been giving me moderate pain now and then, and I have been watching it, thinking ovary or PMS.  Last few days it has been more often and it's where my appendectomy was-- an ugly rupture.  The Doc went in Nov '06 couldn't find the thing it was so messy.  So I had drains and he went back in Dec. after a month of antibiotics and said it was just as inflamed, and took out what he "thought" was appendix.  He had to send it to the lab to find out if it was appendix tissue!  Just bizarre.  Now this.  Perhaps intra ab. abcess (abscess)?

My problem is insurance.  Jan would go toward a new year's Blue Shield deductible, then thanks to hubby's boss, we switch to a new Health Savings Account in Feb. and start THAT $5,000 deductible from nada.  Jan is a dead month.  My question is the gamble.  I don't have a fever yet, so I want to put off being seen till Feb.  I feel light headed and tired, and am in the middle of the worst flare I have ever had, but no fever indicating infection. (I didn't have a fever with the appendicitis either. . .)   A CT scan to find out I have gas would be embarrassing, and draining an abcess (abscess) would be Xpensive.

I'm feeling a little frustrated and discouraged. Though I know you can't condone what I am choosing, I would like to know what you would do if you were me just to see if there are any other choices out there.  If you had 4 kids, and no more room in the budget to put more on the credit cards, and were replacing an engine in your van, like we are because we can afford a new car, what would you do?     It's 18 days.

I am depressed and worried.  Any ideas?  Rediculous the situations we get ourselves into.

what kind of meds are you on - could they be masking the fever or the pain - surgery infections can easily become life threatening - is there a spot in this site where you can ask a doctor

I'm on Welbutrin, buspar, evoxac, guifenesen, not a whole heck of a lot for pain, but an occasional Tylenol.  Had a bad bloody nose this morn, and feeling terrible.  I have called Hospital ask a nurse, and called my surgeon's office.  They say I need to be seen, of course.  And I know that, ultimately.

I just know it'll bankrupt my little family here, if I go in and it's an abcess (abscess).  And finding out will cost us at least 2K going toward no deductible, but it beats scaring everyone with an emergency.

your apendix ruptured is that correct
do you have fibro?
are there any family you can borrow from - welbutrin can make you feel dizzy expecially if you smoke - thats how i quit actually - i dont know about the other meds
is there any other way this can be subsidized at all (programs) - help from church or food bank etc.

Sorry I seemed to drop out of sight.  I had severe Gastritis.  Inflammation of stomach and intestines, for sure caused by Ibuprofen usage.  I tested negative for bacteria H.

I'm alright now, but I am having to pay for emergency room costs and an ultrasound.  At least i know!  I do have fibro.

Thanks for caring.  Hope you are well.
