Why Me?

I have had Fibromyalgia  for about 3 years now. When I sit for to long , my legs want to shake and I get very restless .
When I go to stand up, my legs don't want to straighten out and it's hard to stand up. Can anyone tell me why this happens? And then the back pain goes clear up to my neck? If you can help answer this I would appreciate it.

Thank You, Hammy_41

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Response from Prof. Nicolson: Coronary insufficiency could be part of the problem, but invasion of peripheral nerves by chronic bacterial and viral infections could also be involved.

I have fibro and notice muscle spasms especially when trying to sit or rest.  The painful knots in our muscles, also called trigger points, cause the spasms.  Trigger points can refer pain anywhere in the body.  The reason we get trigger points is probably due to muscle fatigue from our muscles being tight all the time. Our muscles are tight, because we don't sleep well.  Why we don't sleep, I am still trying to figure out...probably because our hypothalamus gland in our body which controls sleep is fried due to physical and emotional stress. Physical stress being infections, injury, and/or pain.  Emotional stress from work, home and whatever else.
When the muscles are tight all the time with knots, they begin to shorten. When the muscle shortens, it pulls on ligaments and tendons causing you not to be able stand or walk easily which happens to me also. This can even cause joint pain which I experience too. Muscle tightness causes your vertebrae to become out of alignment too, which could be contributing to your back/neck pain when standing.

Hope this info. helps.

Warmest regards,
