acupunture for Fibromyalgia

Has anyone tried acupuncture for Fibromyalgia?  If so  did it help?

I havent personally tried it however my mum has. She suffers from Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis and joint hypermobility to name a few...!

She tried it alongside homeopathic remedy and for her, she did not experience any benefit from either treatment.

Sorry that is not so positive but everyone is different and maybe with her combination of problems this is the reason.

I had is some time ago and would love some more, but personally for the cost can get to much, Im not getting much support medically for my FM from NHS i have been paying out my own pocket :-(. but im glad I did, my symtoms (symptoms) got so severe that I got really depressed and have 3 months off work sick, (not that im ever well).

What I will say is that it did help (alot!) I was in excessive pain in the back, neck and head area I had 3 treatments and that was enough (financially) and luckily helped ease my pain. The pain returned fully about 4-5 months later but that is because i stopped treatment, I may just have to go and book some more sessions after coming across this thread! :-)

I have been getting IMS (Intra Muscular Stimulation) to treat my sore body.  It is much like acupuncture in that they use needles however, in acupuncture they hit the "meridians" in the body whereas with IMS, they actually put the needles in where your muscles hurt.

It hurts but it sure has helped me.  Muscles had become very tight from lack of use.  IMS helps to work them out so that I can move again.  I am now walking every day.  :D

not for fibro i would sugest aqua thyrapy for fibro it would be more relaxing .
