anyone have problems with there eyes

hello there everyone. im a 29 year old female, i got diagnosed with fms/cfs about six years ago. The problen is i have devoloped really bad visual problems, i have floaters in what was just one eye, my right, but am now getting them in my left. Although i have all the symptoms of cfs this one problem with my head and eyes makes me wonder wether is is some thing else. I constantley have eye pain and do not want to go out anymore, as i'd rather be in the dark were it's no so bad. I have two children and feel my life is just slipping away from me as i have no energy to do anything anymore.     Can anyone shed any light in my situation!  does anyone have the same problem?

Thankyou so much luv lisa

Hi Lisa,

According to a list of CFIDS symptoms by Dr. David Bell, 10% of people with CFIDS have double vision and 80% have blurring of vision. I know I've had the blurry vision before on and off. Fibromyalgia patients also can have these same vision problems.

All the best,

If you get tested for other possible diagnosis for your eye pain first (even chlamydia is a possibility), then you will know if it is fibro or not.

I've had blurred vision, floaters, and mild pain in my eyes for years.  I went to get them checked within the last few months, with apparently *no* problem other than fatigue bothering them.  *shrugs*  Doc can't find anything wrong with them, or me, that is definitive - hence the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia.  It's not unusual, unfortunately.  I wish you all the best.

I've had fibro about18 yrs now, I got the floaters (no pain) when I was about 30, they are more common in near sighted people (and common for a lot of people) BUT when it comes to your eyes, you should have them checked to be sure. I was seeing 'rainbow prisms' last year and went to the eye doc and inquired about the floaters and he told me the above. I've always been light sensitive and it's gotten worse over the years, never thought it could be fibro related but maybe it is. It is very important to have  your eyes checked though - especially if you're having pain.

I am also 29 years old with CFS/fibro.  I have had visual distrubances, but no pain or floaters, necessarily.  My doc asked about floaters and pain when I saw her about it, though, as that may be associated with Multiple Sclerosis.  Has this possibility ever been brought up with you?
Good luck,
