autoimmune?

   I am having issues that all seem to revolve around inflammation.
headaches since 2 y/o (i am now 38), thought to be migraines, diagnosed 10 yrs ago with chiari malformation.
sinusitis - had surgery but still need levaquin for 3 weeks at least 4 times per year.  pneumonia last year.  asthma (take singulair) Ulcerative colitis when i was 19 and had total colectomy.  Most recently i have tendonitis in both wrists and it is progressing despite steroid injections, volaren cream (have to be careful of oral nsaids d/t asthma), splinting and physical therapy.  I have had raynauds type symptoms in hands over past 3 years and stiffness in elbows.  I don't understand why i have tendonitis in both wrists affecting hands, can't wear jewelery and its getting worse.  I see ortho again in 2 weeks, currently on prednisone 50 mg every day for 5 days.  I know its a lot, but feel there may be an underlying condition here, inflammatory arthritiis?  I can't get in to see my pcp until oct 11th, are there any tests he should run, maybe that i should bring up at the visit?  I am also tired all of the time and its difficult to get going.

What does your GP say about your symptoms?

Some of yours sounds like mine, asthma, elbow problems and Raynaud's as well as fatigue.  I'm seeing a rheumatologist soon for the possibility of Scleroderma. I also see a neurologist for peripheral neuropathy, autonomic neuropathy and myelitis.  You'll have to look those up, the explanations are too lengthy to spell out here.

As you talk to your GP, ask if you should see a rheumatologist.  They take care of bone & muscle diseases & would give you the proper testing for autoimmune.  Or ask your pcp to test you and then if you need to see a rheumatologist, he could refer you to one.
