blood tests ENA 5, and ESR 30... the ESR says positive .....can i get some explanation please getting alot of pain for about 2 yrs.... will be happy to get a reply... thanks ...
Hi there!
ENA are soluble cytoplasmic and nuclear components. It is a common test used to screen mixed connective tissue disease, Sjogren’s syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus. ESR is a nonspecific test because it does not help much in diagnosis nor does it tell exactly where the inflammation is. It is usually raised in acute and chronic conditions, any infection, cancers, and autoimmune diseases.ESR is useful in diagnosing conditions like temporal arteritis, multiple myeloma and polymyalgia rheumatica. These tests should typically used in conjunction with other tests. Any test result needs to be correlated with clinical symptoms for an accurate diagnosis. Do write to us again on how you are doing. I sincerely hope it helps.
Good luck!
